Our values tell us to choose well, leaving a positive footprint on our shared world.

We can do this through the personal decisions we make – where to go on holiday, how to travel, and what to eat.

But should we, and can we, choose who to work for during a climate emergency? Should we be supporting those businesses exacerbating the problems currently being faced?

Last week we held a debate, with strong views on both sides. Although we cannot educate, influence and inspire change without engaging with such clients, doing so lends tacit approval of practices we are otherwise condemning.

As with most decisions to be made regarding climate action, consensus on what is the right thing was hard to come by – perhaps requiring a move from the hypothetical to the specific.

What could be agreed upon was that to make any worthwhile change we will all need to make difficult decisions which may be counter to our individual interests.
