Lucy worked for many years as a creative educator for the Royal Opera house, she was a prop buyer for the Royal National Theatre, along with a specialist painter for Hotels such as The Ritz and Claridges. Lucy’s theatre design and prop making background, has meant she wants her work to have a sense of entertainment about them, but holding a deeper message about the speed in which things are thrown away and discarded today.
Previous work has been using thrown out toys and pieces, to create unique artwork. Lucy has recently been drawn to the philosophy of Kintsugi which is the Japanese art of joining with gold, broken pieces of pottery. This reflects the ongoing interest of giving life to old, broken and forgotten things.
Along with developing her own artwork, and private commissions, Lucy runs workshops for both adults and children.
