The health and wellbeing of everyone attending our events at The Building Society is our top priority thus we have decided to postpone all our events until mid-April or until the virus outbreak recedes and the world goes back to normal. We apologise for those who were looking forward to attending but we must make the decision based on the health and safety advice we are all currently receiving.

Sustainability is one of the main challenges facing the food industry. Experts say that a 70% increase in global food production will be needed by 2050 to meet the demands of the estimated 9 billion people living around the world.

The rise of on-demand food delivery is undergoing rapid change as online platforms allow customers to order from an ever increasing array of restaurants and food outlets. With the food delivery market accounting for 1% of the total food market, consideration must be given to what impact increased shipping emissions have on our society.

Georgia Corr, Transport Planner at Ealing Council will share insights into how delivery companies operate, why we need to switch these journeys from motors to muscles and what can we do as a sector to make sure we're moving towards a more sustainable future.
